How Credits Are Used
Exactly when a credit is spent, what does not cost a credit, and what happens to the credit when a review fails or is deleted.
When a credit is spent
A credit is spent at the moment a contract is accepted for review, right after you click Submit for review and the text has been read and checked. From then on the credit belongs to that review.
What does not cost a credit
- A rejected submission. If the file cannot be read, the text is outside the size limits or the file type is not supported, no credit is spent. Fix the problem and submit again.
- Retrying an interrupted review. If a report does not finish, Try again reuses the same credit, up to the attempt limit.
- Follow-up questions. Every question included with a review is covered by its credit.
- Reading, downloading or coming back later. A completed report stays in your account at no further cost.
When a credit is not returned
- Deleting a review. Deleting removes the contract, the report and the conversation, and does not refund the credit.
- Reviewing the wrong document. The review reads whatever you submit. Check the file before submitting; if the text is not a contract, the summary will say so, but the credit has been used.
- Splitting a long contract. Each part is its own review and uses its own credit.
When a review cannot be completed
If a review fails repeatedly and reaches the attempt limit, the page tells you the review could not be completed. Contact us with the review title and we will sort out your credit.
Checking your balance
Your balance appears in the Review credits card at the top of the Contract Reviews page and on the new review form, which tells you how many credits you have before you submit.
